Innovative VOITH retarders at Solutrans



Ecodriving with VOITH Retarders

OEM Voith, whose retarders have long been seen as vital safety components, presented new products that allow it to play its part in cutting fuel consumption and thus help preserve the environment.
The firm presented a new magnetic retarder for small and medium tonnage vehicles.
The German company also presented a retarder that uses the engine cooling circuit rather than an oil-based circuit. This saves on space and weight, since it does away with the need for an additional tank.

You don’t have to be old to be worth your salt. Aged just 11, Benoît Gautier is already skilfully driving a 25.25 metre rig.
Road freight has doubled in France in 20 years, and economists expect this trend to continue. To address this issue, for many years now some Scandinavian countries have been using trucks 25.25 metres long with a total weight of 60 tonnes. In 1997, this type of vehicle was standardised in these countries under the name of EMS (European Modular System).

On 5 June, Renault Trucks, "exhibited" at the very first all-digital tradeshow, which
took place exclusively on Internet. This was the first virtual tradeshow for the transport
and logistics sector. Renault Trucks was there presenting its Optifuel Solutions,
Optifleet and also its Clean Tech offering. A pioneer in the development of applications
for smartphones, with a powerful presence on social network and discussion
platforms, this was a way for Renault Trucks to reassert its affinity with innovation and
modern means of communication.

TRUCK RACING: RENAULT TRUCKS GETS OFF TO A GOOD START IN ISTANBUL

The 2012 season Truck Racing calendar

The Istanbul Park track, a new venue, hosted the first stage of the European FIA 2012 Truck Racing Championship this weekend - and was the scene of some particularly keen competition. The Renault Trucks-MKR Technology team, which has resolutely set its sights on winning the championship, scored some valuable points by getting four podium places out of four races. Renault Trucks, as usual, marked the opening of the season by a powerful commercial presence. Over 850 of the manufacturer’s customers and partners had been invited to watch the races and take advantage of the various events and attractions on offer around the track.

Iveco presented at Intermat 2012 its Trakker Limited Edition Dakar

At the Paris 2012 Intermat Exhibition, the International Trade Show dedicated to earthmoving, building and construction machinery, Iveco presented the new Trakker Limited Edition Dakar.
With a limited production run of 502 units the vehicle was dedicated to the extraordinary success achieved by Iveco earlier this year at the Dakar 2012 in Latin America.
